BOOKS & MAPS

I placed abstracts and similar records higher on this page than compiled genealogies because compiled family genealogies and heritage books may look easy to use, but they often contain errors in interpreting information and consequently the conclusions formed about relationships. Viewing original source documents, or images of them (ex., microfilm) or utilizing quality abstracts, together with good methodology, is the safer way to go.

You will also want to consult the publications list of the Cabarrus Genealogy Society.

Books which are unavailable new, or which are out-of-print, may sometimes be found on sites such as Abebooks, Amazon, or Ebay.
