On 13 Feb 1842 when Dennis Dozier was 26, he first married Sarah R. MCPHERSON, daughter of Wylie (Willie) MCPHERSON & Kezia MCPHERSON, in Camden County, NC. Born on 18 Dec 1821 in Camden County, NC. Sarah R. died in Camden County, NC on 11 Oct 1867, she was 45.
They had the following children:
i. Marion Herbert. Born on 18 Feb 1843 in Camden County, NC. Marion Herbert died in Camden County, NC on 19 May 1844, she was 1.
ii. Elizabeth McPherson. Born on 4 Dec 1844 in Camden County, NC. Elizabeth McPherson died on 19 Dec 1844 in Camden County, NC.
iii. Hannah Elizabeth. Born in 1846 in Camden County, NC. Hannah Elizabeth died in Camden County, NC in Jul 1863, she was 17.
2 iv. Nelson McPherson (1849-1917)
On 24 Oct 1878 when Dennis Dozier was 63, he second married Mary E. DAVENPORT. Born in 1848 in Chowan County, NC. Mary E. died on 8 Jun 1914, she was 66.
They had one child:
i. Margaret Elizabeth. Born on 17 Jul 1879.
On 30 Apr 1901 when Margaret Elizabeth was 21, she married R. L. McMURRAN. Born on 19 May 1866 in Portsmouth, Virginia. R. L. died on 21 Jun 1931, he was 65.

On 13 Nov 1872 when Nelson McPherson was 23, he married Margaret Thweatt GREGORY, daughter of Francis Roger GREGORY & Nancy ALAEANDER. Born on 10 Jul 1851 in Granville County, NC. Margaret Thweatt died on 18 May 1908, she was 56.
They had the following children:
i. Ruth Alexander. Born on 11 Jun 1876 in Berkley, Virginia.
On 1 Feb 1905 when Ruth Alexander was 28, she married Beverly Randolph KENNON, in Norfolk, Virginia.

iv. Nelson McPherson, Jr.. Born on 15 Jul 1887 in Oxford, Granville County, NC. Education: University of North Carolina 1906.
Nelson McPherson, Jr. married Imogene Pruden CANNADY. Born on 3 Aug 1895 in North Carolina. Imogene Pruden died in Oxford, Granville County, NC on 29 Dec 1978, she was 83.
v. Dennis Roger. Born on 8 Nov 1889 in Granville County, NC. Dennis Roger died on 5 Feb 1890.

ii. Nelson Ferebee. Born on 31 Oct 1906 in Granville County, NC. Nelson Ferebee died in Tarboro, NC in Oct 1969, he was 62.
iii. Mary Ferebee. Born on 22 Jun 1913 in Tarboro, NC.
4. Martha Gregory FEREBEE. Born on 7 Dec 1890 in Oxford, Granville County, NC.
On 25 Jun 1914 when Martha Gregory was 23, she married Leonidas C. TAYLOR, son of R. P. TAYLOR. Born on 2 Mar 1891. Leonidas C. died in Wilson, NC in Sep 1966, he was 75.
They had the following children:
i. Leonisas C.. Born on 17 Feb 1916. Leonisas C. died in Jan 1980, he was 63.
ii. James A.. Born on 9 Jun 1918. James A. died in Chapel Hill, NC on 1 Mar 1989, he was 70.

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
OF
February 8, 1824
In the name of God Amen. I RODAH OVERTON of the County of Camden and State of North Carolina being very sick but in perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto good(sic) for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say—principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hand of Almighty God that gave it next my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executor, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise & dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
Item 1. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Cousin REBECCA OVERTON one linen wheel and one chest and all my clothes, one frock and coat excepted which I give to my Cousin MARGARET TAYLOR daughter of JOHN TAYLOR to them and their heirs forever.
Item 2. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Cousin WILLIAM TAYLOR all the rest of my property within doors and without that is not given away to him and his heirs forever, also I do constitute make and ordain WILLIAM TAYLOR to be my whole and sole Executor to this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannull all and every other former testament, will legacies, bequeaths, Executors by me in any wise before named willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8 february 1824.

OF
July 10, 1822
In the name of God Amen. I JOHN WHITEHURST of the County of Camden & State of North Carolina. Being in a reasonable state of health in body & of perfect sound mind & memory thanks be given unto God for the same. Calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in the manner following.
Item the First. I give & bequeath unto my well beloved Son JOHN WHITE one half of my land where I now live where my houses are to him & his heirs forever.
Item the Second. I give & bequeath unto my well beloved Son SIMON WHITEHURST the other half of my land the same to be equally divided between my two Sons JOHN & SIMON WHITEHURST and to begin at JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN’S line & run diametrically across to JOSEPH WHITEHURST’S line, with a free privilege to drain each others land through either parts of said JOHN WHITEHURST’S & SIMON WHITEHURST’S land, and one cow & calf that he claims to him & his heirs forever.
Item the Third. I give & bequeath to my well beloved Daughter MARY WHITEHURST one feather bed & furniture and one cow and calf to her & her heirs forever.
Fourthly. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved Daughter SALLY WHITEHURST one feather bed & furniture and one cow & calf to her & her heirs forever.
Lastly. I leave all the remainder of my property to be sold to pay my just debts any should remain after paying my just debts to be equally divided between CHARLES WHITEHURST, JANE TAYLOR, SALLY BRITE, MARY WHITEHURST and JACKY WHITEHURST. Furthermore it is my will and desire should either or both of my Sons JOHN WHITEHURST or SIMON WHITEHURST die without an heir lawfully begotten by their body for my two Daughters MARY & JACKY WHITEHURST to have the said deceased land.
I also appoint & constitute my Son CHARLES WHITEHURST & my Son in Law JOHN M’ALLEN BRITE Executors to this my Last Will and Testament to do according to the legacies bequeathed in witness I have hereunto set my hand & seal this the 10 of July 1822.

To the worshipful the Justices of the court aforesaid the petition of Nathanial Wright, Ebergean Davis and wife Phebe of full age, Peter Wright, John Wright, Thomas Wright and Margaret Wright heirs at law of John Wright. Respectfully show that they are tenants in comman of a tract of land in said county bounded by lands of Phebe Torskey, Isaac Tillets heirs and lands of Peter Saymour containing about one hundred acres and they pray your worships to appoint commissioners to make division among them and your petitioners.

We the commissioners in obedience to an order of court to us have this day March 6th, 1840 proceeded to set apart and divide the lands of John Wright dec’d amongst his lawful heirs in manner following.
Lot 1- Beginning at the gate at the main road running south 7 W 11 ½ chs to a stake thence S25 W to a head of a sleuth thence running down the middle of said sleuth to a branch thence running up an eastwardly course to the fork of a branch thence up the N.E. spring of said branch to a blown up gum thence to main road and along it to the first station containing 20 acres more or less, valued at two hundred and twenty five dollars, to Peter Wright.
Lot 2- Commencing at a stake at the stable and running No67W to a pine at the swamp binding Nathan Bells line to the main road thence accross the main road along a line of marked trees to an oak and beach at a pine stump thence S50E3 chs and 80 links to a pine thence S41E3 chs 56 links to a gum S67E1 ch 67 links to a maple N66E2 chs to a gum No69E2chs and 90 links to an oak thence S18E6 chs to an oak thence S15E to the road down the road to the gate thence S7W11 ½ chs along Lot no. 1 to the first station, containing sixteen acres more or less, valued at one hundred and fifty dollars, to John Wright.
Lot 3- Beginning at the corner of Lot no. 1 & 2 running S25W to mouth of a sleuth thence down said sleuth to a branch thence down center of the westwardly branch to the swamp thence up the said swamp to Lot no 2 at a pine thence S67E along a line of No. 2 to first station containing 25 acres more or less, valued at one hundred and twenty five dollars, to Thomas Wright.
Lot 4- Commencing at a gum and beach of Lot no. 3 running down the branch of Lot no. 3 to the fork of said branch thence down the southerly branch to a cypress at the river thence westwardly along the river to the center of the swamp thence up said swamp to line of J. Tillets heirs to the first station containing 32 acres more or less and valued at one hundred and twenty five dollars, to Ebergean Davis in right of his wife Phebe.
Lot 5- Beginning at a cypress at the river in line of Lot no. 4, thence eastwardly along the center of the swamp to a ditch thence northerly along said ditch binding the line pf Phebe Torskey 14 chs and 37 links to a crab apple tree thence S72W to the mouth of a branch to a maple thence binding said branch to the first station cypress at the river containing 30 acres more or less and valued at one hundred and fifty dollar, to Nathanial Wright.
Lot 6- Beginning at the crab apple tree of Lot no. 5 down said branch to the fork of the branch of Lot no. 1 thence up the NE branch of Lot no. 1 to a blown up gum thence along Phebe Torskeys line to the first station apple tree containing twenty eight and one half acres more or less valued at one hundred and twenty five dollars, to Margaret Wright.
And we further say that Lot no.1 pay to Lot no. 3, 4 & 6 twenty fives dollars each.

Know all men by the presents that I Devotion Wright of the county of Camden, state of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and twenty five dollars to me in hand well and truly paid by Ambrose Walston of said county. The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and are there with full satisfaction and contented have granted, bargained, sold and convey unto the said Walston his heirs and assigns a certain lot or track of land being situated and being in said county and bounded as follows. Beginning at the mile road at the south corner of Isaac Wrights land thence running on eastwardly down said Wrights line to the creek thence south course to the corner of Ambrose Walstons line, thence westward along said Walstons land to the mile road thence northward to the first mentioned station. Containing by estimation 40 acres more or less. It being part of a track of land which fell to the said Devotion by the death of his father Miles Wright. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with the assurenances unto the said Walston his heirs and assigns forever. And I the said Devotion for myself executors, admin, heirs and assigns do convenant and agree with the said Walston his executors, administrators, heirs and assigns that I am ? simple of the premises with the ascertains and have right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid and furthermore I the said Devotion for myself my executors, admin, heirs and assigns as covenant and agree with the said Walston his executors, admin, heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the premises with the ascertains against the lawful claims and demands of all persons whatsoever unto the said Walston his heirs and assigns forever. I Gamiel Wright being of sound mind and memory blessed be God do this 29th day of January 1840 make and publish this my last will and testament. I give my property in the following manner.
Item 1: I give and bequeath all of my land and plantation where on I now live to be equally divided between Gamiel Wright and Burfoot Wright sons of Benjamin Wright dec’d to them and their heirs forever.
Item 2: I give and bequeath to Mary Williams the land that I bought of Jno. Williams to her and her heirs forever.
Item 2: I give and bequeath to Mary Porter two negroes namely ? and girl ? to her and her heirs forever.
Item 3: I leave the use of negro man Isaac to Francis Garrett during her natural life and at her death I give him to her lawful heirs forever.
Item 4: I leave my negro woman Phillis and one half of negro man named Simon to be sold by my executor and the money paid to Priscilla Legrange at fifty dollars from sale and if the said Priscilla should not to live to use the sale of said negroes and in that case I give the balance left at her death to her heirs forever.
Item 5: I give one half of negro man George to Mary Stephens at the death of Susan Taylor to her and her heirs forever.
Item 6: I leave all of my chattle, property not already given away to be sold by my executor and after paying all of my just debts and lawful expenses I give the balance thats left in his hands to Mary Stephens the wife of Luke Stephens.
Item 7: And lastly I nominate and appoint my worthy friend John S. Burgess executor to this my last will ans testament in witness whereof I here unto set my hand and seal day and date first above written.

This last will and testament of G. W. Wright was exhibited in open court and the executor of said will was proved in open court in due form of law by D. C. Bell one of the subscribing witnesses there to and John Burgess executor named in said will come into open court and qualified as such by taking the necessary oath whereupon it was ordered by the court to be recorded.
