BURLEIGH: In the mid 1700's Benjamin BURLEIGH and Robert BURLEIGH were both in the Wilmington area. I am seeking any information on either of these men and their families...especially wanting to know how they were related.

I am very interested in obtaining infromation on my husband's family history. His grandfather was Harry BAUCOM born on October 4, 1890 and died in September of 1967. He is buried in Wilmington, New Hanover, NC. He was married to Florrie JEWELL. She was born on February 9, 1890. If you have any information that could get me started in this area, I would greatly appreciate it. Sincerely,

Looking for the parents of Samuel James MALPAS born New Hanover County 1797, married Celia SAUL abt 1820 and had six children. Celia died 1843 and Samuel remarried to Jerusha Ann Moore, daughter of Pettigrew MOORE(son of Jacob MOORE). Samuel left New Hanover County in 1843 with his children and second wife and went to Mississippi along with Pettigrew MOORE and his wife Dinah ALDERMAN and family. Any help appreciated.

Abel RUSSELL listed his birthplace as New Hanover County, NC in the 1860 Census of Jefferson County, GA. He was born ca. 1812. A neighbor also listed their birthplace as NewHanover County. Does anyone have information about the families who left New Hanover County to come to GA? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Connie Page

I am trying to find info and decendants of Henry URQUHART who is reputed to have sailed into Wilmington in 1774 with brothers Norman & Alexander URQUHART. They apparently sailed from Isle of Skye. Henry & Norman had land grants in Cumberland Co. Norman moved on to Ga.& Ala. but Henry remained in N.C. I understand he had a business and wharf in the Wilmington area. I understand he was buried in Wilmington, also;though I do not know where. I would very much appreciate it if you can assist me or forward me to another interested party
