An article from "Back Then" column in the Wilmington Star News, 9-17-89, referred to a Sept. 22, 1889 article which stated that "a turnout had been put in the track of the Cape Fear and Yadkin Valley railroad between Wilmington and Fayetteville near Mott's Crossroads, seventeen miles from Wilmington in Pender county. It is proposed to call the place"Currie", in honor of Mr. J. H. Currie." I would like any information anyone may have on Mott's Crossroads before it became Currie. I am researching Wm. V. Mott & John M Mott family from Currie in Pender County and wonder how this might connect. Thanks for your help.

Interested in Pedigree and Family of Jacob LEDDON (LAYDEN) listed in New Hanover, NC. census in 1820 and Pike County, AL Census in 1830 (listed as Jacob LEYDEN). May be related to Thomas LEDDAN listed in 1800 New Hanover, NC census. Indications are son, Frances LEDDON born in NC in 1809, had the following children: John, Alfred, Jacob, Sarah, Lillian, Harriet. I am a descendent of Alfred Moore LEDDON, but would like to create a family tree with all family members possible.
