I'm looking for the parents and siblings of Shepherd HERRING born about 1804 in North Carolina. He was in Jackson County, Florida for the 1860 Census. HERRING (b. , New Hanover, NC) 9.Augustus HERRING (b.GA)" I also recently found several Abstracts of Deeds of New Hanover Co., NC 1730-1840 refering to either Sheperd HERRING or his "heirs", i.e. DB U, p.217 10 Sept. 1831 Moores Creek SHEPERD HERRING to JAMES HERRING for 72 Dollars a tract of 120 acres on the West side of Moores Creek.... etc. DB AA, p. 807 17 Feb, 1844 Moores Creek WM. MOTT to my two grandsons, WM. JAMES HERRING and MARTIN VAN BUREN HERRING for natural love and affection.. a piece of land including the plantation where SHEPHERD HERRING lives and the plantation where he formerly lived on the Black Swamp on the east side of Moores Creek. etc. I would appreciate any information that anyone has on SHEPHERD HERRING and his family.
