Let's express our thanks to Bryan Beach for making this manuscript prepared by John Melson
in 1962 available to us. He found it in the genealogy papers of his grandmother, Eddie
May Taft Beach. Although Bryan has deep roots in Tyrrell County (Taft, Liverman, Sawyer,
Etheridge, Cahoon), he has yet to find an Alexander connection and can't figure out
why his grandmother had this. There is also no connection between John Melson and his family
that he is aware of.
This manuscrpt is in PDF format. Unfortunately it is not "searchable" so you will just
have to read it if you are interested. It is mostly about the Alexanders of Tyrrell
County, but many other families are also mentioned.
