Know ye that we have
granted unto James Hamblin two hundred
acres of land in Buncombe County on the
Rock-castle fork of Davidsons Creek
including a large flat above the high shoal
of said Creek near the foot of the Balsam
Mountain Beginning on a hickory and black
gum on the top of a ridge and runs West one
hundred and sixteen poles to a spanish Oak
on the top of a ridge, then North forty
seven degrees West sixty-eight poles to a
chesnut on the top of said ridge then North
seventeen degrees West fifty two poles to a
poplar then North eighty five degrees West
forty two poles to a hickory, then North
eighty two poles to a large chesnut Oak
then East thirty seven
poles to a poplar,
then South thirty three degrees East fifty
two poles to a spanish Oak, then North
seventy degrees East eighty poles to a
stake then East one hundred and twelve
poles to a stake then to the Beginning.
Entered 2nd April 1816 To Hold
to the said James Hamblin his heirs and
assigns forever Dated 5th
December 1818
